Cécile Guillaume Brissonnier

A visual artist and photographer based in France, she has worked mainly in film since 1996, the year she took evening classes in black and white photography and printing at the CDPH in Saint-Jean de Védas.

Her practice is approached from the perspective that best suits her. Sometimes she accompanies her wanderings and creates images that resonate with her other artistic pursuits, such as contemporary dance, performance, film, and theater. She exhibited some of these images, including a series of hip-hop dancers from the Halle de l'Opéra de Lyon in 2006. In 2008-2009, she conducted research on movement capture, visual memory, and body memory in Lisbon. In March 2018, she presented a series of 12 photographs, "Réminiscence," for three months, along with an interactive performance with the public, initiating this reflection as part of the group exhibition "Mouvement(s)" at Art'mazone in Brussels.

Or her work is developed around projects that correlate geopolitical, historical, and social factors. In this way, she presented photographs as a look at childhood between Brazil and Portugal, exhibited at the Corum in Montpellier in 2007.

And she responded to a commission from the Linette Gallery in Montpellier with Etat des Lieux, a photographic and sound installation about feminism, in 2012.

Cécile also holds a Master's degree in Ethnology-Anthropology and French as a Foreign Language from Paul-Valéry University in Montpellier. She is currently conducting photographic research on the search for symbols as eyewitnesses to the consequences of climate change and various forms of pollution. She is also exploring the topic of resilience following injuries among dancers through personal accounts.

She is also a contemporary dancer-choreographer, performer, and actress. She has worked for various companies and choreographers. She appears in several short and feature films as a performer and creates her own pieces, installations, and videos.
