Eyewitnesses Behind the Eight Ball
Do not blink, here is a towel on fire by the sunlight in an already warm September morning the year 2020.
As an eyewitness of climate change I chose this shot during my stay at the Bassin d'Arcachon to illustrate the annual rise in temperatures. Heat that the locals did not consider normal, especially since this region is on the Atlantic coast and they are already concerned about water shortages sometimes.
In one year according to the European Copernicus Climate Change Service, we have risen to 1.28°C above pre-industrial temperatures, which brings the planet dangerously close to the ceiling set by the Paris Agreement. We are currently celebrating the 5 years of this treaty. However, the 200 states that have committed to it are not taking sufficient action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Here I wish to highlight the irreversible consequences with witness symbols of an uncontrolled climate change and various pollution that we may soon experience, It is a Work In Progress in digital & film photography for the moment.
